About Us Owners and potters Dave and Barb Hoggatt hail from Indiana, graduating from Ball State University. They are self-taught and started their first pottery, A Touch of Earth, on a Main Street in central Indiana. Sanibel Island came into their lives when God had them "in the right place at the right time," and they founded (on the main street) A Touch of Sanibel Pottery in 1981. The wildlife of the tropics soon became prominant on their hand-crafted pottery. Their daughter, Celia, was born in 1984 and became a seasonal part of the business. In 2006 they sold their shop property and moved their gallery/studio with a new name, The Potter's Hand.Org, to Main Street Grandview Missouri where they continue to make fine stoneware and porcelain pieces for "Life", while being involved with the International House of Prayer in nearby Kansas City Missouri.
Vision/Mission Statement: Our VISION is to shape quality earthly vessels to glorify God, and to allow others to experience the Heart of the Father and the heart of clay through the Potter's Hand.
Our MISSION is to produce attractive, functional and hand crafted pottery, to teach others to do the same, along with the skills to run and operate a business.

We are now offering classes (wheel & hand building) for those interested in learning more about the awesome qualities of clay and the symbolism of The Potter and the clay, and how He molds and shapes us into the vessels that He desires us to be.
